Players Helping Players. Returning player question about main characters. Hello - I haven't played in a while, and to be honest I really don't have much experience with the game. I got a character to level 80 a few years ago, but barely dug into the content. Now I have returned, I'm feeling a bit lost, and have a couple of questions. If you boost a character to level 80 now, you have 80 Hero points to full up your skills ready and willing. If you then want to world complete, ie, go get all the in world Hero Points in central tyria (and HOT if you have it), you will then accrue enough Hero Points to almost walk into POF and almost go straight into the POF Class Specialisms. This is the difference between manually leveling Elite specializations are a good idea. The ability to play in a completely different way is great. Sadly, many of the professions pretty much require those "elite specs" in order to function properly in most of the game modes. Finding the skill points for your hero can be amusing the first time, 3. as pointed out by others, hero points certainly do not take 15 hours and if they do, you really need to read up, watch some guides and improve on your game play as well as game knowledge. There are enough guides around to tackle this. A straitforward approach would be to join hero point trains. I did solely story and map exploration on my first ever character - a mesmer - until level 80.I started HoT story at level 80 while simultaneously opening maps, but I stopped the story after I got gliding and I went to doing LS2 story instead.By the time PoF came out, I was just starting to work through the HoT story - but by then I was already . When you hit 80, if you don't have HoT or masteries, the exp doesn't go towards anything (same as if you have HoT but have masteries for that region maxed already). Then I guess I need to buy HoT so the experience would count towards something towards character impovement once I reach level 80. Thanks guys for the info. Select crafting professions and level them up. Get some cool looking armor and dyes for your character. Select a legendary weapon you like and you can start working towards that SLOWLY. (This is a really slow process or can be fast and expensive :D ) If you like fractals you can do them. Dec 14, 2014 at 21:46. Add a comment. -2. The official wiki explains how you get there: Starting from Camp Resolve, go north-west towards Northern Shelf and then east to Picaroon Scratch. Go down the stairs along the eastern wall and then west through the cave until you reach Drydock Grotto Waypoint. Get some Gear. After that, you should get some gear. Exotic gear is orange in color and it is incredibly strong for its price point. You can find exotic gear for a few GW2 gold pieces on the Black Lion Trading Post. Having level 80 stats will drastically improve your capabilities in any end-game mode. So you only need to go on a Heart Of Thorns or Path of Fire run and be done in an hour or two for one of the specs. Technically every class will end up with the short end of the stick if they are equipping the Elite Spec before it is ready to have traits totally completed. DigitalNinjaX • 3 yr. ago. I get that.
