The new 9-3X came with two engine choices: the 1.9 L diesel (producing 180 bhp) and the 2.0 L petrol engine (producing the 210 bhp). Only the 2.0 L petrol engine is equipped with the XWD while the diesel version is available only with front-wheel-drive. 2010. For 2010, the Saab 9-3 Aero's turbocharged V6 was eliminated.
Re: Known faults of the 1.9 TDI engine with the BRB code and other questions β 26-06-2012, 02:04 PM. I'll have a look in my handbook tonight and see what it says. Its quite informative compared to other car manufacturers! MY10 Audi A4 B8 Avant 2.0Tdi S-Line with every optional extra courtesy of the previous owner.
The tdi obviously available in the us and is a pain to wire but a better choice in retrospect. If you can find a good 1.6 turbo go for it. There usually about 1/5 the price of a 1.9l I drove jeffs (the owner of acme adapters) rig with the 1.6 and it did every bit as good as my AAZ. And yea I get it about the hemi crack.
Re: Is the 1.9 AFN engine the best ever? β 16-02-2013, 01:57 PM. Great post, 500k is more or less to the moon and back!, I've got. A 2001 130 pd currently on 170+k, I doubt it'll make 500k but. 250 is my goal, inevitable turbo/fuelling issues for me will. probably not cost more than buying another decent old car so.

Also, all 1.9 TDI engines suffer from worn engine mounts at old age.
I had the same problem. When I got my car running properly again my boost was in around 10 -15 psi fairly consistently. I drive a 2001 Jetta, in my shop manual the stated boost pressure is 1700 to 2200 mbar under load. The book has a n
After some evolution, the 3S-GTE Toyota engines grew some muscle and eventually spat out up to 256 hp and 239 lb-ft of torque - very impressive for an engine configuration that's 20 years old, and
Unlike the last two generations, this TDI is not forgiving what so ever. When someone puts gas in the Common Rail (CR for short), all that is takes is cranking the engine to do damage. If the car is started, usually it will be driven until it stops running. What that means is gas is in the entire fuel system.
is 1.9 tdi a good engine
